Fall Line, d.b.a., Fall Line Testing and Inspection Panama S. de R.L., is performing third party independent testing services related to the construction of the new set of locks, both on the Pacific and Atlantic sides of the Panama Canal.
Fall Line operates and maintains laboratory facilities located within the project sites and has achieved ISO 17025:2005 accreditation in Panama. Our staff of nine expats and 65 Panamanians is providing 24 hour site coverage. We anticipate that over 200,000 concrete test cylinders will be cast on the project, and over 8 million cubic meters of structural fill will be placed.
Fall Line is conducting testing services to ensure the quality of the materials before, during, and after placement. Fall Line is also performing durability testing to help ensure that the Panama Canal Third Set of Locks can withstand the test of time. Fall Line has participated in the year-long concrete mix design program for structural marine and mass concrete to be utilized in the construction of the new set of locks. Extensive soils and grout testing services are also being provided in support of the project.
